“Equality begins at home” was the motto of a study by GfK Metris for Ikea e Visão, a partnership whose result appears as the cover of this week's edition of newsmagazine edited by Trust in News. “Gender equality is part of our culture and our vision of work. We believe that gender equality is a human right and we want to actively contribute to the debate on this topic in our society ”, explains Cláudia Domingues, communication director for the Swedish brand in the Portuguese market. “We believe that equality starts, effectively, at home and that is why we join Vision in this initiative and we want to promote a message of equality between couples”, adds the same person in charge.
According to the brand, the conclusions of the Parity in the Home study, presented this Friday at Alfragide's Ikea store, “demonstrate that the inequality between the two elements of the couple is still a reality” since “women continue to assume great importance part of household chores, from preparing meals, taking care of clothes, or even children ”.
“This is a pressing issue in Portuguese society that needs to be discussed. When we talk about parity, we often forget to think about where it all starts: indoors, in families. That is why for a magazine that focuses on the quality of its journalism, exemption and credibility, this is an essential and unprecedented work ”, justifies Mafalda Anjos, director of Visão, who dedicates the cover of this week's edition to the complete results of the study.
