All Russia's partners, including those who impose anti-Russian sanctions, admit that it is difficult to imagine solving global problems without Russia and everyone wants a dialogue with Russia – said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Rossijskaya Gazeta.
When asked whether it can be said that there are so-called Lavrov school in modern diplomacy, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs replied that in his opinion one should refrain from personalizing diplomacy.
Lavrov pointed out that Russia's foreign policy is determined by its president, Vladimir Putin.
– In fact, the goals of our foreign policy are determined by the course adopted by the head of state. This course is defined in all concepts of Russian foreign policy since 2000, which has enabled us to develop completely new qualities on the international arena and rebuild Russia's status as a great power – emphasized Lavrov.
– The name of the thing by name, we have achieved the status of a key partner in solving key global problems, the status of a country without which it is difficult to imagine, if at all possible, solving global problems. And our partners recognize this, even those Western countries that claim that a hard course should be maintained towards Russia – said the head of Russian diplomacy.
Lavrov also said that the current Russian diplomacy is continuing the traditions of Alexander Gorczakow, Andrei Gromyko and Yevieniya Primakov.
– The most important achievement of modern diplomacy is that – as the president recommended us – we work not to break with this tradition, but to strengthen it in every possible way – added the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
