Among the series, then next to the bridge! best led by Unconscious director Ivan Zachariáš and Destruction of the Dejvice Theater directed by Miroslav Krobot. Silvia Marková informed ČTK on behalf of ČFTA.
The winners will be announced at the gala evening on March 7 in Prague's Rudolfinum. Last year, the Czech Lion in this category was awarded a mini-series by director David Ondříček Dukla 61.
While films are automatically included in the Czech Lions contest when the conditions set by the annual prize statute are met, broadcasters submit their projects to the television categories. This year, Czech Television, FTV Prima, HBO Europe and TV Nova submitted a total of 14 projects. 192 academics out of 313 members of the ČFTA voted. The evening will be broadcast live by Czech Television and will be hosted by Václav Kopta, just like last year.
The Academy has already announced nominations for filmmaking, where 17 statutory films will compete in 15 final categories on the statue of the Czech Lion, the most nominations being Owners, Colored Birds and Old Men. The winners of non-statutory awards are already known. The prize for the best film poster was awarded to Roman Mrázek, the author of the poster for the film Colored Birds and the film fans prize goes to the film Women in the Run by Martin Horský.
In cooperation with DaFilms.cz, ČFTA is preparing a traditional screening of nominated films of the current Czech Lion Awards. Selected films can be watched online at www.ceskylev.cz from 2 to 15 March. The screening of selected films nominated for the Czech Lion will also take place in CineStar multiplex cinemas in the week from 5 to 11 March. The Edison Prague Cinema will offer all nominated films from February 24 to March 7.
