Opel for 120 years offers excellent lighting technologies, with very high visibility in all models of the house, the new cutting-edge systems IntelliLux Led Matrix they were first presented on Astra in 2015 and then on Insignia in 2017.
Today with Opel Corsa they enter the small segment for the first time, showing how Opel always makes available to anyone innovations. In 2015, a feature previously reserved for luxury vehicles made its debut in the compact segment with the Astra. IntelliLux headlights guarantee the best lighting and visibility conditions, in addition to offering another decisive element for the safety. They do not dazzle other road users and allow those who are behind the wheel to notice in advance any objects on the road.
We had the opportunity to test this new technology by driving an Opel Corsa Elegance 1.5 100HP with 6-speed manual gearbox in the evening and what was declared by the German manufacturer is actually reflected in the unlit roads along the SP162 that we traveled.
With full LED technology, Opel lighting experts have not only created an extremely safe and accessible system, but a real one new intelligence. The IntelliLux system must succeed recognize independently if the vehicle is located in an urban or suburban area and this occurs thanks to an interface between the camera and the speed. As soon as the speed exceeds 50 km / h, the camera checks the position of the vehicle.
On a poorly lit street they turn on automatically the high beam. When the Highway Light function is activated, some left LED elements are deactivated in order not to dazzle the traffic coming from the opposite direction. Opel's solution is the first matrix lighting system mounted on a standard vehicle that adapts continuously to the surrounding environment even without the presence of a navigator.
The LED matrix headlights are also more advantageous from the point of view ofefficiency. The system illuminates more than traditional lights and has a longer life. The absence of mechanical movements in the headlight is an additional advantage, the individual LED segments turn on or off according to the situation, and so the duration increases.
In 2017 these headlights were presented on the new generation of Insignia, demonstrating a great improvement the quality of distribution and light intensity of the IntelliLux LED matrix active headlights. The latest generation lights have one new feature, the light intensity of the segments inside the matrix increases based on the steering angle to also increase the illumination of the curve. Each headlight is equipped with a headlight inside the high beam module that allows you to illuminate the road up to 400 meters away.
This is the year of the launch of the new Opel Corsa, available for the first time with IntelliLux LED matrix headlights on request. This lighting technology has received numerous awards and today it is brought into the B segment. Opel Corsa has been redesigned and today it will show these active headlights, super technological able to eliminate the feeling of glare.
