The Mazda SUV CX-5 is refreshed for 2020 with a new body color and more efficient versions of the Skyactiv-G petrol engine.
In visual terms, the new CX-5 is identical to last year's model, with the exception of the new gray metallic color that is on the options list. Mazda has installed a new octagonal display for the multimedia system and redesigned the graphics.
The biggest news is the introduction of cylinder deactivation technology for the two-liter Skyactiv-G petrol unit. The system shuts off two of the four cylinders at low load on the aggregate, reducing CO2 emissions by 8g / km. Power and maximum torque remain the same – 165hp and 210Nm.
Standard equipment includes 17-inch wheels, tinted windows, front and rear parking sensors, LED fog lights, automatic wipers, lane assistance, and dual-zone air conditioning.
Higher equipment packages bring, among other things, 19-inch wheels, rear-view camera, steering wheel heating, 10-speaker Bose audio, partially digitized seven-inch dashboard, front seat ventilation, rear seat heating, adaptive front LED lights and camera for a full circle view of the vehicle.
In addition to the two-liter gasoline engine mentioned above, there are two versions of the Skyactiv-D 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine in 150hp or 183hp specifications. All three engines can be combined with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, and a more powerful diesel engine will also be available with all-wheel drive.
A chassis revision was made last year to improve comfort and handling and these changes will, of course, be retained. Mazda emphasizes that it has upgraded the sound insulation and refinement of the cabin of the new CX-5.
