Postponement of EuroPride due to the coronavirus pandemic has been announced by the Thessaloniki Pride team.
According to the announcement, “no new date has been set so far”.
“The Thessaloniki Pride team has decided to postpone EuroPride 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
No new date has been set; we are keeping a close eye on developments and will announce the decision on a new date as soon as practicable. We continue to work closely with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, as well as with our other partners, to determine the future of the festival.
After three years of hard work and dedication, we are obviously crushing and crushing that we need to postpone Thessaloniki's EuroPride 2020. We know that in addition to restrictive mergers and trips, there is no room for the festive side of EuroPride amid such huge losses in Europe, but also worldwide. Nevertheless, we look forward to the festival later in 2020, as we are determined and determined to give voice to the LOATKI community not only of Greece, but of the Balkans and of Europe as a whole. “
We thank our community for their support and understanding, and we apologize to all who had already planned their trip to Thessaloniki in June. The conditions are really difficult, but with the right cooperation we will find ways to overcome it.
The European Pride Organizers Association also expressed its disappointment, but acknowledged that it was the right decision given the circumstances, as there are Prides all over the world that are inevitably postponed or even canceled. EPOA will continue to support and work closely with the Thessaloniki Pride team.
