The social network Facebook and the technology Cisco has decided cancel the presence of its employees in the next edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) of Barcelona, which is scheduled to be held from February 24 to 27, as a precaution for the outbreak of the coronavirus, and thus join other large multinational companies that will not attend this year's largest global mobile industry event .
“As a precaution, Facebook employees will not attend this year's Mobile World Congress due to the evolution of the public health risks related to coronavirus“, says a spokesman for the company in a statement sent to Europa Press.
In this regard, the company founded by Mark Zuckerberg has ensured that it will continue to collaborate with the GSMA, the association that encompasses the mobile industry and is responsible for organizing the MWC, and with its partners and thanks them for “all their efforts.”
For its part, Cisco has announced its resignation to attend through a statement expressing its concern about the development of this virus.

The GSMA will hold its ordinary general council this Friday, convened months ago and that takes place every year before the show, in which it can analyze whether or not to cancel its celebration, they have informed Europa Press in sources familiar with the meeting.
