PRESIDENTIAL – There is a time and a place for everything. Mike Bloomberg, a candidate for the Democratic primary, discovered it a little at his expense.
On Twitter, the official account of his campaign posted photos of his premises in Flint, Michigan. It turns out that the front has been adorned with a poster on which is written: “Eat the rich”, in French: “Mangez les riches”. Commenting on the campaign account adds that “America deserves better.”
Another photo this time showing the campaign office located in Ann Arbor on which was tagged “Capitalist pig” was also published. However, this is the first image that earned the billionaire a volley of green wood.
It turns out that for six years now, the people of Flint have faced a real health crisis that deprives them of access to drinking water. At the heart of this issue, aging lead-contaminated pipes that have led the city to be placed in a state of emergency. The lines in question are being replaced.
Internet users did not fail to remind Mike Bloomberg, deeming him disconnected from the realities on the ground. The contributor of HuffPost American Yashar Ali wonders in particular “if this is the most important thing happening in Flint at the moment?”.

Others have pointed to links between Mike Bloomberg and former Republican governor Rick Snyder, one of the officials singled out for the Flint water crisis. The former helped fund the latter's campaign in 2014.
The hashtag “EatTheRich” appeared in Twitter trends in the United States, as proof that the case had sparked a number of reactions.
