Iskratel, Europe's leading provider of broadband solutions, will provide equipment to build a broadband fiber optic network in 210 municipalities in Slovenia and Croatia as part of the RUNE (Rural Network Project) with partners Rune Enia in Slovenia and Rune Crow in Croatia.
Iskratel will provide active and passive telecommunications equipment for ultra-fast broadband optical network (XGS PON and GPON). As part of the three-year project, 233,000 households in 165 Slovenian municipalities and 130,000 households in 45 municipalities in Croatia will be able to access the Internet at speeds up to 10 Gbit / s.

Goran Živec, Director of RUNE Enia, d. o. O. stressed, however, that the RUNE project is the first and at the moment the only international project at European Union level connecting the territories of several Member States with ultra-fast broadband infrastructure. “Providing an open broadband access network to all citizens no matter where they are is of utmost importance for rural development. I am delighted to be able to do this together with our partner,” he added.
