From the USA a ranking with the most pesticide-contaminated fruit and vegetables, with strawberries in the lead followed by spinach and cabbage.
The risk pesticides it is present in different types of fruit and vegetables. This is confirmed by a study conducted in the USA by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and entitled “Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce”. According to this special ranking, strawberries occupy the first place, more properly a “false” fruit, in which the highest concentrations of chemical residues would be recorded on average.
According to researchers, up to 22 pesticide residues have been found within a single strawberry. This with regard to the usual productions, while organic would seem to be able to guarantee the absence of residues in fruit or vegetables. Below is the Ranking of the 12 worst fruits, drawn up on the basis of data collected by the EWG:

In addition to the ranking of the 12 worst, the EWG has also drawn up a second ranking, which features i better fruits from the point of view of lower pesticide content:
- Sweet corn;
- Frozen sweet peas;
- Savoy cabbage;
- Green melon;
