The current BMW 5 Series was launched at the end of 2016, so its restyling is expected soon and here are two images probably leaked from the updated sedan appear on the forum Global Car4um. First observation if these pictures prove to be authentic: the 5 Series of this generation will escape the epidemic of disproportionate calenders which currently strikes the BMW range.
The double grille is nevertheless a little more imposing than it is today due to its prominent vertical slats and, without adopting the proportions seen on the restyled 7 Series, the X7 or the Concept 4, it still grows a little compared to that from Series 5 “phase 1”.
On both sides of said grille, the front lights seem to have been refined and display a new LED light signature evoking the “look” of the last Series 3. The front bumper adopts a more angular design than today. At the stern, the changes are almost imperceptible if not the new interior arrangement of the optical units.
In terms of engines, the whole range could be electrified, whether it be micro-hybridization or rechargeable hybrid mechanics. The car in the picture is also a 530th of this type. The renewal of the powerful M550i xDrive, which had already required a major update when the WLTP certification cycle came into force, is questionable as the 2021 environmental standards which are stricter than today approach. But for the even more muscular M5, a restyled version should see the light of day a few months after the rest of the range.
The images and official information relating to the restyled BMW 5 Series are expected for this month of May 2020. So come here very soon to know everything about it.
