A total of EUR 458 million. This is the subsidy provided by the European Commission for Bulgaria for the period 2021 – 2027, with which the country will have to compensate those affected by the transition to a low carbon economy.
This is clear from the allocation of the € 7.5 billion from the Fair Transition Fund, which was unveiled this week. The total amount for Bulgaria is 1.710 billion euros, but the difference will have to come from the cohesion funds already allocated for Bulgaria and from the state budget. In addition, Bulgaria can hope for another EUR 4.5 billion in the form of investments guaranteed by the EU and the European Investment Bank.
The funds are part of the EU's multiannual budget, which has yet to be approved by the Member States and the European Commission.
