Roborock has today unveiled its latest high-end robot vacuum cleaner: the Roborock S6 MaxV. The latest addition to the S series, this robot vacuum cleaner is the first to integrate a dual camera on the front, allowing it to avoid obstacles thanks to ReactiveAI technology. In addition, the latter is powered by a Qualcomm APQ8053 processor which gives it advanced performance in terms of artificial intelligence and connectivity. ReactiveAI allows the vacuum cleaner not only to recognize, but also to avoid a variety of common obstacles for robots.
The Roborock S6 MaxV is therefore equipped with a dual camera at the front which captures detailed images at a maximum speed of 30 fps, allowing image processing to recognize and avoid common obstacles (minimum 5x3cm), such as animal droppings, scales (weighed) or shoes, unfortunately the cables do not seem to be taken into account yet. This obstacle avoidance technology uses a convolutional neural network for image processing, trained on tens of thousands of images and powered by a Qualcomm APQ8053 processor.
With 2,500 Pa of suction, 25% more than its predecessor the S6, the S6 MaxV is the most powerful model of Roborock. It now picks up even finer dirt from hard floors and penetrates deeper into carpets. The capacity of its dust bin is 460ml, while the water bin is 297ml. In addition, it is equipped with a 5200 mAh battery offering autonomy up to 3 hours (in silent mode). Note the Smart Top-Up function which allows the robot to recharge just enough to complete a major cleaning when necessary. Note that the sound volume in Normal mode is 67 dB.
An evolving application
Launched with the S5 Max, the Roborock application is evolving with new features such as multi-level mapping, which allows the robot to automatically recognize the different floors of a house. Besides, each floor can now have its own set of no-go and anti-wash zones. There is obviously the function of automatic coin recognition which automatically divides each level into coins and which can now be extended to several floors.
Roborock S6 MaxV will be available in France at the end of the second quarter at the price of 649 euros.
