Online News Desk: Sweden has said it will not cancel any order in Bangladesh's garment sector due to coronavirus.
The Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Lofven called Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday afternoon.
The information was given in a press release signed by the Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim on Wednesday (April 29).
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told the Prime Minister of Sweden, “Export-oriented garment factories have been opened in compliance with all health regulations.”
Due to the outbreak of coronavirus in Bangladesh, a general holiday has been declared from March 26 to May 5. Businesses, factories, everything is closed. At such a moment, BGMEA informed that the buyers have canceled the purchase order worth Tk 25,000 crore. The economic situation is going to face a big threat. So the government has already decided to open some factories in compliance with the health regulations.
