A record number of glass artists meet, between April 29 and May 13, at the National Glass Salon, an event that is organized exclusively online, for the first time since its establishment, 32 years ago, due to the pandemic.
The organizers of the 2020 Glass Salon transmitted, through a press release posted on Facebook, that for the first time in 32 years of existence, the National Glass Salon is taking place online.
Under the patronage of the Union of Visual Artists in Romania and with the name “Glass Salon Workshops 2020”, this year's edition is very special. It is special because it managed to gather a record number of participants: 54 Romanian artists from all over the country – and from outside it – from different generations (…), because for the first time the Glass Salon enters the virtual environment, being accessible to a much wider audience by exposing the exhibition on the Internet. It is special because, for the first time in its 32-year history, it is not organized in the exhibition hall. Due to the traffic and assembly restrictions imposed following the pandemic, the artists and the public will no longer be able to meet face to face, but the fact that we will not collide with a glass of champagne at the opening does not mean that we will not be together “, say the organizers.
Glass artists say they can meet with the public online, because it is very important for them to feel the support and encouragement of those who appreciate art.
