With the OnePlus 8, the Chinese brand hopes to revive its tradition, namely to provide a smartphone with premium features, for the price of a high-end. A new leak tells us most of the technical characteristics of the future OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.
Despite this unprecedented period of containment, the manufacturers are not losing sight of their objectives and the flagships of the year 2020 should succeed one another as planned. After the Samsung Galaxy S20s, the latest Xiaomi smartphones and the last flagships of Huawei (whose presentation is expected today), it will soon be OnePlus' turn to unveil its next flagship: the OnePlus 8. While the presentation of the range should not be done before mid-April, a recent leak from the Indian leaker Ishan Agarwal, generally well informed, tells us most of the characteristics of the future OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.

What's planned on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro? Taking up most of the leaks that have arisen in recent months about the future flagship of OnePlus, the leaker tells us that the OnePlus 8 would have a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen clocked at 90 Hz, when the “Pro” model has the right to a 6.78 inch AMOLED panel (QHD +) clocked at 120 Hz, just like the recent Samsung Galaxy S20. We will find, on both models, a Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with 8 or 12 GB of RAM, and they would therefore be compatible with 5G right away. It is especially the “Pro” model which was detailed by the leaker. We learn that the OnePlus 8 Pro could be entitled to a large battery of 4510 mAh, compatible with fast 30W charging as well as wireless charging and even reverse wireless charging. It would be a great first for OnePlus, which has long disparaged wireless charging on its smartphones. The standard model would not benefit, however, according to the technical sheet shared by Ishan Agarwal.
On the photo side, the OnePlus 8 Pro could count on a quadruple photo module comprising two 48 MP sensors, an 8 MP sensor and finally a last 5 MP. At the moment, we don't yet know the specifics of each of these sensors. The standard model will only have three rear sensors, one of 48 MP, a second of 16 MP and a last of 8 MP. Both will have the right to a 16 MP front sensor, housed in a punch which should be located at the top left of the slab. The latest news is that OnePlus should have given a conference in mid-April to present its new smartphones. However, despite the magnitude of the health crisis we are going through, the manufacturer could be content with an event broadcast online, like most of its competitors.
