At some point in their career, many “special” cars start offering special and sometimes limited editions. An example is the Toyota Supra RZ with the Horizon Blue Edition, intended for the Japanese market in 100 units and equipped with various updates of the Supra MY 2021.
One of the most important innovations of the Supra 2021 concerns the power of the 3.0 turbo, which now goes from 340 hp of a standard Supra to 387 HP of the new version – an increase of 14% – for a torque of about 500 Nm. Thanks to this increase, the Supra reaches the levels of the BMW Z4 M40i in terms of power, with a 0-60 mph (96 km / h) covered in 3.9 seconds.
Not just more power
The Supra RZ 2021 also received some reinforcements in the chassis – to increase rigidity – and changes in the suspension, to improve grip and stability when cornering.
Obviously, as the name of the car suggests, the most obvious novelty of this special series is the new color Horizon Blue. If the color is familiar to you, it is likely that you are a gamer: it is the same shade used by the Supra added to Gran Turismo Sport.
The color is also taken up in the passenger compartment by the seams of the seats, the steering wheel and the dashboard. For all Supra 2021 models, however, there is no lack of new infotainment system with an increased size of 8.8 inches, while the previous 6.5-inch is no longer available.
Deliveries later this year
The Toyota Supra 2021 is available in Japan in seven different colors, including the new Horizon Blue – limited to 100 units – and the Matte Storm Gray Metallic, limited to 27 units. Orders are already open in the Land of the Rising Sun, but deliveries will begin around October 2021.
