The ambitions of the 100% electric American manufacturer are coming to fruition. These spy photos show us two Tesla Semi trucks from Alaska to California. We can imagine their return to Tesla's headquarters in Palo Alto, after tests in winter conditions. Elon Musk had announced in 2016 the arrival of a future electric truck, as well as the tests that would follow and here he is pointing the tip of his nose.
“Unrivaled Performance”: unmatched performances announced
The Tesla truck should have “exceptional” performance compared to the thermal competition we know. We are talking about a 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km / h) in 5 seconds (without trailer)! 0 to 60 mph in 20 seconds with a load of around 40 tonnes, 3 times faster than a conventional thermal truck! Performance and above all safety, the trucks will be equipped with driver assistance systems, including 360 cameras, an obstacle detection system accompanied by automatic emergency braking, enough to ensure a “safe” convoy. Another advantage of the electric, batteries, reinforced and protected from impacts, which provide a very low center of gravity. As for autonomy, the boss of the brand had announced nearly 1,000 kilometers.
As a reminder, the production of Tesla Semi trucks should start at the end of the year.
