Uber can only transport one passenger
The Government's measures for a state of emergency allow services provided from an electronic platform to continue operating, in this sense Uber will continue to operate, albeit with restrictions, namely regarding the number of passengers per vehicle.
“We are working to ensure the safety of our community of users and drivers and we remind you that you should only travel in case of need and only for the reasons allowed during the state of emergency”, begins by saying the company, in a statement.
“According to Decree-Law no. 2-A / 2020 that carries out the declaration of the state of emergency, the number of passengers on Uber trips should not exceed one third of vehicle occupation”, explains Uber, clarifying “UberX, UberGreen, UberComfort and UberBlack products now have a maximum capacity of one user and UberXL has a maximum capacity of two users per trip. These changes take effect at 00:00 on 22 March.
