A younger woman has died in a traffic accident at Asnæs in Odsherred on Friday night.
A younger man in the same car has been badly injured and flown to Rigshospitalet by helicopter, while a child who was also sitting in the car has been driven to the emergency room at Holbæk Hospital.
The three are according to the Central and West Zealand Police father, mother and child.
The accident happened shortly before seven o'clock Friday night in connection with an overhaul in which two cars were driving in front together.
The family was sitting in the car struck by the oncoming car doing the overhaul.
Night to Saturday, the chief of police at the Central and West Zealand Police Henrik Olesen reports that the young man's condition is stable. The same goes for the child who has had a bone fracture.
The young family is from the local area.
The driver of the overhaul car disappeared from the scene of the accident and the police were looking for him.
The driver was later found in Holbæk and arrested on Friday at 21.30.
– He just needs to be questioned, and then he will be asked whether he should be prepared for a constitutional hearing, says Henrik Olesen shortly before one o'clock until Saturday.
In the passenger seat was a woman who was slightly injured.
The road Rødhøj near Asnæs was blocked as a result of police work on the site, but has been reopened.
