Recently, the video service Youtube lowered its standard resolution in Europe to 480p. This is to reduce the load on the net while an unusually many work from home. Now they have decided to do the same thing globally.
Usually, Youtube has the setting to use the highest resolution the connection allows, but now it is lowered. You will still be able to raise the resolution manually. But Youtube believes that most people use the recommended resolution that is standard.
